Yukon River Campground

3rd trip north this year. 3rd time to do the TOW.

First 2 times we stayed on the Dawson City side of the river. This time we would like to have a look at the riverboat graveyard. Last time we took a drive, without trailer, through the Yukon River Campground but I don't remember if there are a few sites capable of taking a rig our size. Hitched we are 55' bumper to bumper. Don't really care if the back of the trailer hangs off the end of a site over a bank.

Anyone been there before & noticed any largish sites?
  • We were there last year with our truck and trailer which is 47 feet overall. I unhooked the trailer and moved the truck ahead a few feet so I believe you would be able to fit with your unit. I seem to remember a few trailers that were near your size in the campground also.
  • We've stayed there numerous times with our 25' fifth wheel. With truck, we're 43' bumper to bumper. Sometimes we disconnect, sometimes not.

We prefer the river-front sites. There is a good selection in which you'll fit. You'll be big, but you'll fit.
  • Agree with Sue we were about the same size when we stayed there in 2010 and we fit into the river sites nicely.
  • Will give it a shot then. Don't want to cross the river only to have to come back. If all goes to plan, such as plans are, the night before will be at a really nice PP just N of Carmacks so we should make Dawson by early afternoon & have good site pickins.
