We mostly do state and national parks online with site specific choices when available, usually weeks or months ahead of time. For private parks along our travel routes, we prefer online reservations, but usually only make them at most a day ahead, and more often just a few hours ahead. Site specific is much less common among the private parks, but many do honor site requests when available.
