If every park was forced to have "bottom feeder" pricing, soon every park would either become a dump or just close up and converted to other usage. It costs real money to keep a nice park nice and even more to change a park from bad to good. Rental rates are their major source of revenue to use for those projects. It isn't just about greed.Bill.Satellite wrote:
Justify it in your own mind anyway you like. I understand you have buyers remorse but it's no ones fault but your own. Any business is allowed to charge anything they like. You don't like the price and you have the right to vote with your feet.....Just drive away. Even posting here saying you were surprised and warning others that this KOA is very expensive is good information for others. Just don't blame the KOA. They did nothing wrong.
You think I'm going Back? get real! I am warning others to stay away too.
Ever been really tired, and not wanting to argue with some one who has nothing to do with pricing?
Yes, I could have driven away, but being tired and having dinner engagement In town didn't.
I guess you can blame me for bitchin about high prices, because you believe they are good for the industry.
And as a warning, this is about the worst attempt I have ever seen. First almost no one will see this "warning". Your subject line has no indication this is about a negative experience regarding rates in Leavenworth, Washington. Heck it could be a head's up about a great rate in the Florida Keys.
Second, there are almost no travelers who fit your situation, that is they arrive and pay only to be shocked by what they paid. Most check rates somehow before arriving at a park, be it by phone, website, internet etc. Those that don't almost always ask the rate at check in before paying. It is almost impossible to pay without knowing (as you claim happened to you) the amount in advance. The desk clerk almost always tells you how much it is prior to asking for payment. If you are paying by Credit Card you have to accept the amount on the keypad. And if you are paying with cash you have to know how much to give them. Unless you just walk up to the reservation counter, hand them a stack of hundreds and tell them to take whatever they want, the scenario you claim happened only happens if you incredibly careless and out of tune with what is going on around you.
Finally, this is about the worst RV resource to use if you goal is to communicate with large amounts of travelers going to a specific place. This thread will be dead and gone in a matter of days. It's actually on life support right now, three days in. Next week, next month and in the years following, no one traveling to Leavenworth, Washington is going to see this thread.
If you want to reach a large number of travelers, post your problems on RVparkreviews, Google, Trip Advisor, KOA's website or any of the other travel oriented sites out there. The only problem you will encounter is your message will be considered frivolous since the rate will have been prominently displayed, for all to see, on all those sites long before your post appeared. Be heck, Don Quixote never figured out that windmills weren't really dragons that needed to be killed, so tilt away.
