Sure in the boonies you can find a bargain, but if you venture to a tourist area the rates will increase.
Just called KOA in DesertHotSprings known as PalmSprings JoshuahTree KOA. Their highest nightly rate for in season Nov-March is $65 a night.
I actually stay near there in the winter and it's a nice park and it's for sure a Tourist location. I have stayed there when it was a Western Horizons park also.
I also went to their web site and there is NOTHING mentioned about rates.
Try VA Beach KOA. lots of $100.00 prices.
I chose VA beach because it is the closest tourist area to me with a KOA.
Just to be sure I checked Myrtle beach KOA they also had plenty of $100.00 sites.
maybe it's an east coast thing......
For the record prices were available via the web site no phone call required.
