Sure an odd way to travel. You research prices where you don't stay, but show up where you are staying without a clue.winnietrey wrote:
Would you still feel it is over priced?
yes !
When any company is this far off the norm, they should show it up front.
Leavenworth isn't that big of a draw, to be charging 100 per night, the other camp ground in town is half that price.

How do you propose they should show their prices upfront? They are available on their website. They will tell you if they ask. Blaming the park for your mistake is irrational. - Tom_BarbExplorerI guess Tom is simply a Jackass for not liking to pay $100 for a place to park for the night.
- maillemakerExplorerIn today's modern world with cell phones, there is really no excuse for sticker shock when pulling into a campground.
When we are on the road and do a truly random stop, we hit Cracker Barrel or Walmart and stay for free.
I camp about every other month at Brierfield Ironworks State Park and it breaks my heart to pay $28 a night there. - BillyBob_JimExplorer

KOAs are not usually 100 per night, we stay at them all the time, We did call, we do know how to ensure They have space for us.
We never suspected KOA to blind side us with these prices.
So you failed to check the price and are upset that they didn't call you last week to tell you, just in case you happened to be driving by and decided to stop this week?
Are you trying to rationalize 100 bucks a night? or are you failing to understand that $100 is way over the standard?
Or why attack me for complaining about it , and for warning others
I don't get it nor do I see an attack. Warning about what? The only standard I know of regarding rates at RV parks would be a personal standard.
Plenty of RV parks have prices @ that range or more. The way I see it if I make a reservation I know what I'm paying. If I drive in off the road I ask for the rate before I plop the money down. If the rate is too high I leave and go elsewhere. If I call in from the road for an overnight I ask what the rate is. If I don't like it, I keep driving. Did they somehow do a bait amd switch or something?
Those who attack never see it.Tom/Barb wrote:

An annal is a record of what has happened in a given year or the recording of one particular item in a chronicle. Most often, annal is used in the plural form, particularly in the idiom the annals of time, which means in recorded history.
Hum, spell check?
By the way, you don't have to be that ANAL to understand what to expect before it happens. Most people call it common sense. If you did not find out ahead of time what you were going to pay, that just called a mistake. You are blaming KOA for an "assumption" YOU made. It's not their fault that they are a part of the free market we enjoy in this Country. - valhalla360Navigator

Not at all. I just wouldn't go public complaining when I made the mistake of not checking ahead of time on the price.
As I said, in my first comment...don't like the price, it's a free country...go somewhere else. - DtankExplorerWHY is this in Tech Issues??
The other forums to expensive??
. - rexlionExplorerOk, so Tom made an assumption and got surprised. Before we point the finger at him, we need to remember that the one pointing the finger has 3 fingers pointing back at himself... in other words, we've all made a bad assumption or two at some time or another. We learn, we move on. Like one of my pastors was fond of saying, "if you can't say Amen, say Oh Me!"

Just curios, Tom/barb
I like KOA's as you do, were you aware of the different classes of KOA's and how the price jumps? Before you pulled into this one?
For your 1 night stay, after a 600 mile drive, 100 bucks pretty high, as I assume you did not use any of the amentias.
But how about family of 5, stays 4 nights, pool, hot tub, bounce house, tee shirt dying, pancake breakfast, wagon rides, shuttle into town, etc.
Would you still feel it is over priced?
