$100 per night

That's the price for a 1 night stay at the KOA in Leavenworth Wa.

  • Recently stayed (again) at the Mount Pleasant / Charleston SC KOA. About $75 a night. Very nice well maintained. Always plenty of staff picking things up, trimming trees, cutting grass. Place is always spotless. Plenty of stuff for kids to do, nice walking trail, pool, frisbee golf course. It is well worth a premium price. Being where they are, and how much property they have ( and have to pay taxes on) I can understand the higher rates.
  • It used to be newsworthy, but now there are plenty of $100 per night CG's

Some campgrounds around me in Connecticut are darn close to that, possibly more when you add in fees for more than two people, pets, etc.

:) Hi, we just recently stayed there for two nights. It is a very nice place. Totally re-done and or new complex. We felt it was worth it to stay at such a nice place near the German town. Other than New Orleans, this was the second most expensive camp ground that we stayed at. And for sure the most expensive KOA we have stayed at.

I too was shocked at the price, but this place was on my wife's bucket list and you only live once. While there we re-newed our KOA membership and that brought our cost down to $188.00 for the two nights.
  • Vote with your wallet. I would not spend $30 for a KOA.
  • I have paid more for an asphalt parking lot. I like KOA when they are convenient.
  • State Parks in the area are 40-45 a night... But, if you want a site, you'll need reservations over a weekend. Might be able to sneak in during the week...

I will never stay at a KOA again even if they were only 40-45 a night..

    Good luck!

  • Oh golly gee! The house I rented here in one of the most popular coastal resorts in Mexico (costs me five US US Dollars a day). Quiet and modest. Nice neighborhood. I did have to furnish it -- oh well, the park will either make it or it won't.

Rather spend my money on Tech Toys, or wander down to the beach.
