There is a great magazine published monthly called AMERICAN ROAD. Each month it examines the lesser known, the two lane routes, The "hidden" or "lost" histories and much more. I highly recommend it.
Double ditto. But the OP link is great way to start thinking of a themed trip.:W

About 100 miles north of the capitol city of Boise. The photos in this article don't even come close to capturing the beauty of this small community of 3,000 permanent residents.
I would agree. The article is good, but the author really didn't do their research. So many people haven't heard of Thousand Springs, Johnny Sack's Cabin, Big Springs, Upper and Lower Mesa Falls, and I could go on and on, just in the state of Idaho. Maybe there should be an Idaho only article. - 4X4DodgerExplorer IIThere is a great magazine published monthly called AMERICAN ROAD.
