6 to 8 weeks near (150 miles) Seattle

Due to my DD schedule after we tour Olympic NP , I will be "stuck" in the Seattle area for 6 to 8 weeks in August. I enjoy nature scenery and like to boondock or dry camp at NFS, BLM and NP campground.

I will be in a 30 foot fifth wheel.

Any good suggestions welcome.

Not working, DD, SIL and I am spending 6 months on a trip from TN to WA. DD & SIL needs to return (fly) to TN for 6 to 8 weeks in Aug/Sept so I will keep the 5er in Seattle.

IOWs you looking for a place to stash the 5ver for a while?

anyone living in the RV while its stored?

No, I will stay with the 5er.
  • I'd suggest,

  • I don't see why. Drop them off in SEA for the trip back east and wander. Return trip can be SEATAC or some other airport in the PNW.

Will you be working in Seattle? I love the place for a city. I am a third generatin Husky.

Plenty of people commute from the woods out past Issaquah, Black Diamond, Snohomish, etc.

  • I's try a Google search for `_______ tourism' and put the town, state, area or whatever in the blank and read what the specialists recommend.

X2. I usually input "xyztown attractions" for my search and see what comes up. I'd also recommend using trip advisor. Click on "Things to Do" at the top, put the town in the box and then search.

  • Consider going over to the Winthrop area!! Lots of NFS dry camping around there, neat town. Spent a couple of weeks last year in that area. Would be more than your 150 mile radius though.

Another area would be east of Snoqualmie Pass up along and above Cle Elum Lake. NFS campgrounds and open camping in many areas. Beautiful spot near the wilderness boundary is Fish Lake on the Cle Elum River. Only negative is 10 miles of rough, rocky road. You can make it up there, but slowly!! Also too many west siders on the weekends flying up and down the road!!!
  • Not much near SeaTac for camping. But lots of scenery. Mt StHelens, Mt Rainear for starters.
