A plug for Emma Wood State Beach, California

my choice in the general area would be near Point Mugu Thornhill Broome it is separated from the highway with a fence and has table and firepit and permanent porta potties. However as others have stated spots along the coast here are tough to come by during the summer.

You were lucky. We tried Rincon Parkway, which is very close to there last Wednesday. Nothing. I will admit I might have been able to just sit and wait to see if anybody left. We did a quick visual of Emma Woods, but it didn't look like there would be a place to turn around a 37'er pulling a dinghy if I needed to. Maybe I panicked, but even mid-week, mid-June I suspected it would be a problem. We went a mile or two further and stayed at Ventura Beach RV resort. Much nicer than I expected it to be. And I did review it. Although rvparkreviews has yet to publish it.

lived near there and surfed there, for nearly 20 years. but there are a couple of Ventura County campgrounds farther up the coast, that are even nicer. they're tough to get also, during the summer and weekends.

It is nice.. went through there in March. I camped along the road on Rincon highway.
