I volunteer at Stephen F. Austin SP. The golf course next door is a nice leisurely 1 mile bike ride from the RV loop to the club house. From what I've heard from visitors the course is playing nicely these days. Stately native trees adorned with spanish moss adorn the fairways. Bullinger Creek dissects the course and a few holes have magnificent views of the mighty Brazos River. Also, there are information way markers along the course describing the rich Texas history in the area. It is a semi private course owned and managed by a local family. They bought it from TPWD some years ago.
The park gets a lot of campers who come out just to play golf. There are 40 full hookup, 30 AMP pull through RV sites. I nice quiet park.
The course at Bastrop SP is closed. They'll be looking for someone to take over.
