Okay, back from a great trip! We ended up eating at the Jordan Pond House for dinner. Actually, it was 4:30pm so still technically "tea time", so we had the "tea menu" as opposed to the full dinner menu.
Very good! Wife had Lobster stew. She loved it, finished the whole thing, thought it may very well have been better than bisque. Forgot to ask waiter, but there was no lobster bisque on the menu? May have been just due to timing.
I had the lobster roll (tea menu, remember!) which was very good.
Also, popovers were fresh, hot, and BIG! Some of the recent reviews of Jordan Pond are not great, maybe they have been working on fixing issues? - because we had a great experience there.
We ate lunch at Paddy's in Bar Harbor -- it is the pub right near the docks? Good food, good views!
Saw sunrise on Cadillac Mountain on Monday morning... it was CCCCOLD! We were just barely dressed enough for it. Remember, bring extra coats (and HATS!) if you go see the sunrise in early fall.
Rode the carriage roads on our bikes a bit, hiked up to the Fire Tower (kind of strenuous and some climbing, but short and not a "hard" hike if you park near the base of Beech Mtn.), checked out Thunder Hole at night. Thunder Hole is really, really cool at night - why it isn't crowded at night I don't know, but I'm fine with that!
