Great review of the Acadia area.! We are headed there for 10 days this fall! As for dining - we prefer the casual style. Lunt's and the Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound on the right just before crossing the bridge to the Island have great lobster. Parking is tight for Trenton Bridge and Lunt's is open on Sundays. The Quietside Cafe in SW Harbor is a local favorite for lobster or crab rolls and Home made pies. Sawyers on the Seawall Road looks like an old drive-in diner but has good seafood and often has specials on lobster. The place doesn't look like much but is a fine place to stop. Further down the road in Bass Harbor is the Seafood Ketch. Lots of parking and a good menu. And I can't forget to include Mainely Meats BBQ and the Atlantic Brewing Company in Town Hill. Lots of fun with the funky crew at the BBQ, good food, and a tour of the brewery and the beer store right on the grounds. You'll notice I don't mention the many restaurants in the village of Bar Harbor. I'm sure they are fine, but we're not there to join the swarms of tourists and cruise liner passengers packing the streets and businesses...
