Hi,
You might also want to check out the Grizzley Giant, a tree about 29' in diameter. When you go into Yosemite on highway 41, you can turn to the left for the valley, or to the right and go 2 miles to the parking lot to see the tree. There is bus parking here, as well as Glacier Point. I think that Glacier Point is about 20 mile drive from highway 41. You can check it on google maps. You can also check the elevations too! You are able to look directly down into the valley, even see the pools at one lodge. I took some telephoto pictures of Half Dome, and they showed the climbers on the top, along with the details of the chains that help them get up there safely!
Go EARLY in the morning for the best parking. There is no gas in Yosemite Valley, the lowest priced places to fill are near Fresno, and highway 99, everything else needs fuel trucked in and they charge for it!
Fred.
