Alabama suggestions

Just a note for Alabama campers. The Governor issued a burn ban for all counties in Alabama yesterday. We are in a COE campground until Thanksgiving and will not be able to have any campfires.

this park is less than 15 miles from my house. It is one of the best kept secrets in north central Alabama.

Chances are you are going to have some very cold weather. Could be highs anywhere from the 30's to 60's. But if you can deal with that, might suggest Natchez Trace State Park, not as far south as Alabama, its in West Tennessee but open all year round and full hookups. Most campsites have plenty of sun and lake views. Many places are going to be closed that time of the year.

Haven't seen it mentioned yet, but Monte Sano SP in Huntsville is a nice place with full hookups.

McFarland Park in Florence, Alabama. Full hookups, about $20 per night, right next to the Tennessee River. It's 10 minutes from downtown Florence with several nice restaurants. The campground is well protected and no non campers allowed in or out after 10 P.M. Barge traffic going by, heading to and from the Wilson Dam, which, at one point, had the highest single lift lock in the world.

Florence is part of the Muscle Shoals area, home of FAME music studios, and museum. Several famous artists made their music there.

Of course, temperature is never a guarantee anywhere but the highs average 53 and the lows 34 in December.
