Camped there several times when we lived in northern Michigan. I especially liked the grassy sites. The lake is sandy and shallow near the shore for swimming. There is also a canal from the lake in the middle of the park that offers the opportunity to keep a boat next to your campsite if that's something you'd like.
Mullet Lake is quite large and connects to a waterway that leads you through Indian River and over to Burt Lake. Or you can go into Cheboygan via water.
