So why don't you give it a try and see what happens?
If it is too cold you can always move further south.
Toying with the idea of 2 weeks to a month in Tucson, leave the TT at home, in a cabin to get an idea of what the area is like in mid Jan. Since I am looking as far south in AZ as possible with Tucson.
