I think you will find some times during the winter it's cool no matter where you go, I remember every few years Florida orange crops get killed off by frost. We stay in Borrego Springs California (altitude about 500 ft. above sea level), last December there was snow in the hills above about 1,000 ft. They occasionally get snow in northern Mexico around that time as well.
The good news is that the days warm up quickly in the desert and you don't get that bone chilling cold at near freezing temps like you do in Ohio or in Canada.
I appreciate your input, and the days are not a problem for me even in the 50's. Nights are my issue. I lived in Ft. Lauderdale all my life until I retired in 2009. I am not concerned with the occasional weather abberation, my concern is constant low temps - 40's - overnight. Not trying to be difficult I just don't see any sense in leaving home to go somewhere that I will have to hibernate inside the TT because it's to cold for me to sit outside until midnight, and 40's is to cold for me to sit for 3 or 4 hours in the evening. So, it may be Florida, or it may be that I just hunker down for the winter and continue to visit AZ during August and September.
