Others have named most of the good sites, but here's a must... Mt. Philo SP, you can drive right up to the top and overlook the whole Champlain Valley. The best spot in VT for a picnic. While you're there, head over to Ft. Ticonderoga NY, (short trip) take the ferry over and back by the new Champlain bridge at Crown Point. I also like Champlain Maritime Museum in Vergennes, better plan to spend the whole day there...

Sorry. It's The Bennington monster, there in the Bennington area. I believe I've heard it as the green mountain monster one time before since it's there in the green mountains.
