We own our own rv spot in Key Largo, Fl, but will be staying right here in the high country of NC until it is safe to go. Our county here has only a total of five deaths and just a few hundred cases, while our county there has a few thousand cases. It is a no brainer for us !Guy

We're staying home in Western NY this year as well. Our concern is another shut down. We don't want to spend a bunch of money to be confined to our RV for who knows how long with all of our support system at home. Not to mention, I got ill last year and ended up in the hospital (not covid related). Just about everything was out of network and not covered at all until we met our high deductible threshold so it was paid out of pocket.

Going south as usual. We believe we can avoid COVID by wearing masks, social distancing, washing hands, etc. equally well regardless of where we are and what the local case load is. Another lockdown won't keep us from doing what we like to do (golfing, hiking, biking). The choice for us is cold and rain in the Pacific NW versus warm and sun in Palm Springs, CA. We are a bit concerned that a big surge could limit the availability of hospital beds should we need one for any reason; however, that could happen at home in the NW too. As far as support networks go, they are the same both places.11 Days and we're on the road again!

We are heading out at the end of the week. The incidence of virus where we stay in the Hill Country is very similar to that of our location here in Iowa. We've had very few cases and only one death of a person who had other severe medical issues. Like many others, I'm sure, we have just as many friends and support there as we do here. We may have to spend just as much time around home down there as we do here but at least it will be warmer.

We’re heading to Florida. We would rather hunker down on the beach looking at the Gulf of Mexico instead of our fireplace. We will take all the same precautions as we do at home and then some, because our experience is that many Floridians believe they are immune :w. Dave

It always amazes me how hard it is to get news, as to how other countries are doing with the virus. Its like our news networks are afraid or embarrassed to report anything from other countries on the subject.

After all these posts, we have changed our mines and figure we'll get out of "Dodge" some time either just before or just after Christmas.
Last week we had a few nights below freezing and thinking of what's to come in the high country here of NC at elev 3000. We are going to gamble, head to our paradise in Key Largo and spend the days in our hidden in the mangroves salt water jacuzzi with it's sandy bottom and crystal clear water
