We recently stayed at a harvest host in South Dakota. The winery was not too far off our planned route and we had a pleasant afternoon and quiet evening. We also stayed at a harvest host in a tourist town about 100 miles from our home. I found that when planning a trip, many HH locations are not convenient to major highways. If you don't mind diverting from your route, harvest hosts are a great and interesting alternative to a campground.
