Easter break for many here will begin the weekend after April 15th, which is unusual. That week is very popular for many in RV's, especially in the warmer climates.
I'd make reservations, or at least do advance searches on where you can stay in Walmart or Camping World parking lots.
I'm getting older, but even as a younger person I would never do that much of a drive, there's always bad weather, snow, etc. somewhere. Doesn't sound like a good plan for me.
But have fun, and welcome to the US in advance no matter where you go.
