April / May trip. Campsite availability?
Hi We are family of 4 from the UK planning our first RV trip across the USA...from New York to San Fransico. The trip will be 19 nights in total and 4000 miles. First night in the RV is 14th April...

I remember planning our first rental about 12 years ago. First thoughts were to pick up in Denver & do a loop all the way to the Pacific Northwest in a 17 night door to door trip.
Then I started to map it out & doing the numbers & what was wanted to be seen. What was I thinking? That trip got knocked down to a Denver, Grand Canyon, Vegas, RMNP, Denver trip in a hurry & was still a rush to do.
The US is a big beautiful country but between the Appalachians & the Rockies is miles & miles of miles & miles. Cornfield after cornfield after cornfield. Fine if you have the time. We do these days so it is not boring to us, but can't imagine doing it with the clock pushing us.
