April Trip Along the California Coast?

Having just done a trip to the Redwoods in the first week May, with a RV, I can only echo what the bear ll and others have said. Although we had great weather you just never know.
You should also drive The Avenue Of The Giants, it is amazing and there are a few places to stay at the small towns on the 32 mile trek. It is an easy drive with many places to explore.
The Avenue Of The Giants website HERE tells all about it, you can order a "free" $1.99 shipping, Travel Guide and Map from them, It is worth it. You can now download it but the print is really small.
As for places to stay on the Highway there are just a few, in Redcrest there is the Redcrest Resort that have rustic cabins. others are in the Tour Guide.
As for the rental cars. The only ones that I saw when I flew in and out of Crescent City were Hertz and a local rental car company.
There is also an airport in Eureka but its flights seem to change, you might check there also. I have family there and sometimes I can get flights there and sometimes it is Crescent City.
