- downtheroadExplorerGive the info that Desert Captain posted, the $30 - $33 per in not bad at all.
- toedtoesExplorer IIIFor me, I see this as everything else in life:
You can't afford to eat Filet Mignon every night - so you save that splurge for important moments and eat hamburger and chicken the rest of the time.
You can't afford to go to the movies every night - so you go to the movies once a month and watch TV the rest of the time.
You can't afford the state parks every trip - so you save the state parks for those important trips and do BLM and NF campgrounds the rest of the time.
You don't have to give up the state parks - you just have to figure how to fit them in your budget. - 2gypsies1Explorer IIII just looked up a couple choices at Lost Dutchman State Park, Apache Jct. - an absolutely fabulous park (we volunteered there). In December my choices with awesome views were listed as $15 without hookups and $25 with 50A. Doesn't seem too high, in my opinion compared to RV parks with no views except for another RV.
- NaioExplorer IIThanks for the informative list, Desert Captain!
- TyroneandGladysExplorerAs RWDIII stated this is the most expensive site a non beach site is $30.00 They both have electric and water and include park admission and the park has flush toilets and showers.
Rifle Falls State Park Colorado electric only vault toilet and no showers is $20.00 per night plus $7.00 per day entrance fee.
Pacific Beach State Park Washington Electric only beach site $40.00 plus $5.00 non resident fee and the park has flush toilets and showers. - Desert_CaptainExplorer IIII forgot to point out that all of the State Parks I mentioned have hot showers, flush toilets and spectacular views from their large sites. All of the AZ State Parks offer on line reservations which during the high (snowbird), season or holiday weekends are a very good idea. It is nice to arrive knowing a beautiful site awaits.
:C - 2oldmanExplorer IIThis all depends on the OP's budget.

Exactly. Not everyone can afford $30/night every night of every camping trip. It's about finding a balance. Unfortunately, sometimes our favorite things go up in cost and we can't enjoy them to the extent we did before. In those cases, we change them from being our "go to" joy into our "special occasion" joy, and find a new go to joy. - 2oldmanExplorer II

I understand parks having to become more self sufficient and don't mind paying what they think their sites are worth. Just think it's odd that I'm staying one night, just passing through and have to buy a pass and then pay for camping.
