Different strokes for different folks. We stay 2 weeks at Rincon West in Tucson during the big gem and mineral shows. Crammed in there with a shoehorn and segregated at the far end because we have a couple of dogs, isn't my idea of fun. Tons of activities onsite, a farmers market once a week, food trucks at noon several days a week, etc.
However, we leave there when shows are over and head straight to Ajo or Gila Bend. Quiet, peaceful, can see the stars, we rest and recharge after the hubbub of Tucson. City camping is just not our cup of tea. BLM boondocking is what we love to do, one of the best weeks was out of Ludlow, CA at a gravel pit out in the middle of nowhere. Lots of rock hunting, lots of watching the night sky and the distant freeway and railroad tracks, the train lights at night were neat.
Like I said at the beginning, different strokes for different folks!!
