Would you mind providing some specifics on RV parks and other amenities that a typical elderly snow bord might be attracted to in Yuma? Do you live in an RV, or do you live in a house that you own or rent? If you live in an RV park of some sort, would you be willing to quote some of your own monthly expenses?

I'm on a rather tight budget, not a multi-millionaire as some are, and am not the high-roller "Sedona" type of retiree motor homer. I drive an old Class C. Thanks for details, if you have any!

Supercharged - is Gila Bend that much better than Yuma? What is the draw to Gila Bend versus Yuma in your thinking?

Supercharged has lived in Az. for 51 years, travel all of it for 51 years, loved all young girls in most towns when he was young traveling saleman, now old man just thinks about being young in many Az. towns, best air, clean air, nice people, low cost, peaceful, near mountains, close to Phx, and shopping is by far Gila Bend. Ajo is a nice little town also. If you like rat race go to Mesa, Apach Jct, Phoenix,Tuscon, Casa Grande, Yuma, Benson is to cold, N.M. is colder yet.

So, Gemstone's post about 'bumper-to-bumper' and crowds in Yuma is sounding like Sedona then, with less of the beautiful ppl and lower prices then, right?

I don't want to get snowed-in Up north in Sedona. Do they even have RV parks (besides Walmart) in Sedona?

Yuma has lots of people, I put on a large bump grad on my pickup just to drive around the RV's there. I heard last year one drop $15,00 in a store there.

Agree...Yuma is OK but we like it better where it's not bumper to bumper. Don't get me wrong we love people

With that it is hard to find a place that is not crowded. There are places out there though.

I'm considering coming out to Arizona this winter. I don't want to just sit in the RV in Mesa/Apache Junction ~ I want to stay away from the huge metropolises like Tucson and Phoenix.

As a native Arizonan, is Yuma, AZ. a good place to Snowbird? I'm looking for a town big enough to have a Walmart Supercenter, so's I can have a good place to shop for groceries and have a place to recycle my diesel's old oil and buy new oil. I know you so I will let you go out west of Yuma a few miles near old Mex. and set up on a hill over looking the river. You need to make you own ele. but in Yuma you will have a lot to do just a few miles away. There are many on here who are real cheap, and can tell you far more about the area west of Yuma a few miles, I'm not talking about you Joe, just the other guys are cheap.

I'll take one every 10 to 15 minutes if I can get it. I grew up in Omaha, NE within a couple miles of a Union Pacific double mainline. Then lived near the Norfolk Southern lines in the middle of Memphis, Tennessee for years. As long as I'm one to two blocks away, I'm good......can't get enough of their blasting horns and roar.
