Rather out of your way, but perhaps of interest none the less: St Louis City Museum if you're up for climbing around and going down slides and such.
(Many other things worth seeing and doing in St Louis too, of course, but this is one of my favorite attractions around, and it's without a doubt unique. "Museum" perhaps is a bit misleading, though there are some decent exhibits; it's more a playground space and interactive art project than a traditional museum.)
