Bad experience Lancaster KOA

As far as whether or not the requests were reasonable, in my opinion absolutely not. Why should a disabled person get to bring in guests without a fee when everyone else has to pay. Not all parks have the ability to monitor all visitors. We can, but we are in Montana and very few of our guests from Thailand have visitors stopping by. But if a park is located a short distance from major metro areas and serves primarily locals, it would be close to impossible to administer some visitors in free and others pay.
As for the golf cart, our insurance specifies that we are not to allow any non employee to operate or ride in park vehicles. Maybe as the owner I would take that chance, buy I don't empower my employees to make that decision.

Actually based on prior posts I certainly would frequent her (IIRC) campground if I ever was in the area and knew which one it was.

I'm definitely with westernparkowner on this one. It's ludicrous to expect a campground to cater to disabled as suggested in this thread. And I say that from the perspective of one who has a disability.

I don't think anyone on here said They had to cater to the peopleThey had to cater to the people...but a reasonable accommodation WOULD HAVE LET THE PEOPLE PICK HER UP AT HER SITE.....AND WOULD HAVE CAUSED NO HARDSHIP TO THE OWNERS/MANAGERS OF THE CAMPGROUND...and the ADA is about reasonable accommodations ....now if they abused it....then it would have ended...Chuck

That type of treatment at a KOA earned them a 5 year Keep Ourselves Away rule application nationwide.

It is just typical of very, very poor customer service or lack thereof. Another business that runs in spite of it's self!

After reading the reviews on this place, I don't see it as an ADA issue. What I do see it as, is owners, that probably should not be in the people business.
One star here and there in online reviews, no big deal in my opinion. But these guys have tons of poor reviews, for a variety of issues. And even many folks who gave it a higher rating mention the attitude of the owners.

WPRV owner, my guess is, from reading your posts, for many years, is you run a good CG, and are a good business person. And that, you would have found a way to make these folks happy. I would bet if your place was getting these types of reviews, over and over, you would be changing things pdq. As a business owner myself I know I would. I have stayed in a few places where it seems to be more about the owners running their own little fiefdom, than it does about running a business. I suspect that is the case here.

On edit, when we camp with the GD, we always stay at KOA'S, ( as they have pools and playgrounds) I found the vast majority to be pretty darn nice owners and people.

Thats ridiculous. What does the attitude of one cg owner have to do with an entire chain? This cg has been a KOA for about a year. The attitude of the owners came way before being a KOA.

I agree they could have let the friends pick them up, but they didn't. It's their prerogative as the owners. And, as a result, they get bad reviews bother here and every rating site around.

The owners at this particular campground--which we live near-- are very bull-headed about everything. It's almost like they don't like their jobs. Their answer to any question is usually "no." They should be in the sausage business instead of hospitality.
