Been through Badlands NP probably 6-10 times, always drive through but never have been inclined to stay for more than a casual walk/drive in and out.
Wind cave we did when we were younger and have never been back, Jewel Cave is Great and would Recommend it to all. when we are in the area we usually stay outside Custer and can explore, hike, and generally enjoy the sights for the better part of a week.
We are generally going through this area on the way East or West coming from the East it anything is welcome after the long drive, so we stop every where possible. When heading back East we stop every where possible, because we are never that excited to start the long lonely drive back.
Custer SP - Crazy Horse - Sylvan Lake - Neddles - Jewel Cave - Mt Rushmore and all the drives and hikes are enough to keep you busy for weeks on end.
BOL,
