Benson, AZ January weather question

Thinking about a stopover in Benson this winter. I see that the elevation is around 3100 feet. Went to the Weather Channel and checked out the average temperatures in January. It said the average low was 29 and average high was 63 for the month.

Does that sound accurate for those of you who've stayed there? If so, that may be a bit chilly for our bones.
  • Come to Yuma, the warmest place in Arizona. Where we live is only 100 feet above sea level.
  • Thanks for the information folks. Think we may catch Benson on the tail end of the trip when we are headed home and things have warmed up a bit.
  • Benson is a little too Cool in January for Us. Actually the entire state of Arizona is too Cool and or Windy in Our opinion in January.
We head South to where that Sunshine generates some real warmth about then.

But it is a dry snow.
  • Tucson is a bit lower so warmer. Rarely below freezing and then for only a short time in early morning. We did see 18 degrees a couple of years ago. Usually up into the 70's by mid-morning. Generally speaking in January it is 45 to 55 at night and 65 to 75 during the day.

Good sleeping weather all the time and sunny 95% of the time.
  • Just go 30 miles west to Voyager in Tucson (exit 270 or there abouts) and you'll we warm.
  • Google city & state & add climate history. You will get some good data on area you're planning to stay.

    There may also be snow.

Thanks for the replies. It sounds like it may be too cold for us. I can save money and stay home to see snow.
  • Sounds about right. I have there in Jan with a low of 17 degrees.
