- silversandExplorer50f warmer than our location here this month would be 46f. 50f warmer than our February temps here would be a dismal 42f. No where near warm...not even close.
I suppose if one lived in the Mid Atlantic, 50f warmer in winter would be borderline acceptable. So, the ~70% (the rest of the snowbirds living north of the mid Atlantic states) living in the 13 coldest states in the US would be MIGHTY disappointed spending their winters in a place merely 50f warmer! - TomG2Explorer"Warm" means fifty degrees warmer than back home to most of us. After all, this is the "Snowbirds" forum.
- silversandExplorerYuma can get pretty darned cold in Nov, Dec, Jan & Feb. Looking at the historicals, indeed Yuma will hit the low to mid 20sF on occasion at night during these months (the most recent was in 1980 & 1981). The historicals show only mid 40sF at night for Dec, Jan & Feb in Yuma. Not exacly my interpretation of "warm in winter"; but "warm winter" can be interpreted by 10 million people in 10 million different ranges!
eg. warm in winter means for me: never ever the prospect to experience lower than 55F and during the day never ever lower than 75F +. This can't ever be achieved consistently during "winter" anywhere in the Continental United States (not even Key West); one would have to winter in the Caribbean or Yucatan or far south Mexican Pacific coastal regions.
So, what do you actually mean by "warm winter" by the numbers ? - vermilyeExplorerI had a great time in the Parker area of Arizona (on the Colorado River) last year. 70's during the day, mid 40's at night, and far less expensive than Florida.
- Off_PavementExplorer IIA lot of folks head to Quartzsite - World's Largest RV Gathering Place.
- C-BearsExplorerYuma is probably warmest in Arizona. But if you want to consistently hit some 80 degree sunny days between January and March, be somewhere south of Sarasota, Florida.
- 2gypsies1Explorer IIIPlayed pickleball today in shorts - southern Arizona - 70's in future days, too. :) Sun all day - as usual.
- jbrad13ExplorerHave you heard of the Weather Channel? I've got a great app on my phone called Weather Bug.
- The_TexanExplorerYuma is in the mid 70's right now with 80° forecast for tomorrow through Monday, then back to the mid 70's for the rest of the week.
- samsontdogExplorerYuma Az, In the 70s and 80s .; On my patio right now it is 76 at 1:03 PM
