  • We love Red Cliff campground - Gallatin National Forest, Big Sky, Montana.

Big Sky itself is a resort of homes, condos, etc. It's close to Yellowstone and you can't get any better than that. Stay in Yellowstone.

Spring Creek is top on our local list here around Bozeman. They just redid their trout ponds, so hopefully even better fishing.

    Grizzly in West Yellowstone

X2, one of the nicest anywhere.
  • Montana is a VERY big state. The KOA in West Glacier is very nice indeed, and has some mountain view. Mountain view perhaps more spectacular from the KOA in St. Mary, on the east side of Glacier, but the CG isn't quite as nice. (It's fine, especially as a base camp for sightseeing.) Grizzly is great too, but there's not much mountain view from there, just the Yellowstone plateau.

We haven't been, but you might check into some of the CGs south of Livingston, in Paradise Valley. That's a beautiful area.

  • Yup, Montana is a very big state -- any particular areas of the state are you thinking about?
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the KOA on the west side of Glacier National Park. It was one of the nicest KOA's we have ever visited.
