Hi Roy,
He already has a generator. Using solar to maintain and charge the battery bank is far better than dragging along a second "noise maker".
BTW my solar charges at about 3 amps at solar noon in the rain. That's about double the parasitic loads in an RV.

With the generator I can always re-charge back up in a three hour generator run time using my on-board converter/charger setup rain or shine...
