I usually have both banks connected. But my BLUE SEA 4-position switch gives me OFF-BANK1-BOTH-BANK2. Kinda neat to have this sometimes... I can charge one bank and not disturb the other bank...
My two banks of four 12V batteries would demand a good 80Amps of charge when first starting up. Thats a bunch of amps for my 60AMP Converter/charge here. SO I would do this is two steps 40AMPS demand at a time haha...
When camping OFF-ROAD I am always experimenting with things with my Ham Radio setups so its best sometimes to let momabear have the one bank of batteries while I am playing with the second bank...
Guess all this makes sense haha
