I talked to the wife again this morning and we're leaning back towards off-road pop-up a bit...
We do like the more "campy" feeling and the simplicity of it. We'd also save tons on storage and fuel money (plus have the best chance of fitting into the smaller free campgrounds and most remote boondocks).
Does anyone here have one?
Downside is it's not really roadtrip friendly as far as no potty on the road (we don't have that now either - slide blocks access to our bathroom)and a bit more setup for one night stops. I don't think I ever would have done a Walmart overnight, but the option would be nice I suppose.
Wouldn't take much to supply power (not much on the pop-up to use power) and most come solar-ready these days. I could just get 5-6 aquatainers for longer trips to refill as needed. In reality, we won't be in any one spot for more than about 3 nights anyways - too much exploring to do around here!
