We love getting back off the trails in our OFF-ROAD POPUP setup...

It has all the comforts of home - can go any where my 4WD F150 truck can go. We might be a bit short on inside moving around space but this makes us do more outside around the camp site. My table shown here is used for the large lounge setup seating. We eat sitting on the lounge or outside under the patio awning

I am setup to run for a couple of weeks off the power grid with the plan in mind to have all of the 120VAC items we want to have running from a couple of Inverters, All the 12VDC items direct connected to the battery bank and going "green" everywhere we can to conserve power. Then all of the BATTERIES gets recharged backup each day using my 2KW Honda Generator direct connected to the trailer shore power connection. I can do this is a short three hour generator run time using smart mode charging technology. My battery bank is only 255AHs capacity...
This is my floor plan setup showing where everything is located...

Hooking up to the Honda generator is just plugging in with the generator sitting on the tailgate corner of my truck..

We have been very successful camping off the power grid over the past four to five years here on the East side of the US. Watch OTA HDTV everynight and I get to play with my Ham Radio anytime I want to...
If we ever think about upgrading to something with hard sides it would most likely be a 4WD truck camper pulling a small utility trailer.
Our setup blends in quiet well with all the generator run time restrictions here on the East side of the US. Unlike the West side of the US it is very hard to be able to run your generator here anytime you want to so we had to beef-up the battery system and run from and only use our Generator setup to re-charge our batteries once a day for a three hour generator run time when and where allowed.
NOTE: Just noticed your other post about camping off the power grid. Adding SOLAR to my above setup would be icing on the cake for us. This would allow trickle charging of the batteries during the daytime hours when the sun is out. Might even eliminate some generator run times.. Just a 120WATT SOLAR panel is what I would look for for this setup.
I might also add this setup work great for just two two of us with sleeping in the one tent bed side and other tent bed side is the daytime catch all area. Having kids would work for two probably without too much trouble. More than that then it probably would not work well. Of course kids would rather sleep in tent setups around the trailer anyway...
