Out of the four KOA's in New Hampshire (Twin Mountain, Chocorua, LIttleton,and Woodstock) which one is best? We have young kids and care about activities, pool, playground, etc...Any help would be great. We can only stay at one.Best--Jeremy

We've stayed in all of them, some a lot more than others. The Lincoln-Woodstock KOA best fits your needs. We were just there a couple of weeks ago with the grandkids, non-stop fun for the girls. Best sites are the premium pull through, well worth the extra, the other sites kind of ruff. Twin Mt. is close to Santa's Village. Chocorua is not big rig friendly very tight. Littleton, it's an old CG with a primitive playground and pool, however, the owner, Steve is a riot, always a good time there, we go there a couple times a year.

We stayed at Twin Mountain last year.Very nice park with caring owners.Centralized to the Mountain region, and an adequate pool/playground.

I agree, all are nice and well cared for but Woodstock might be the best for the kids. You can't go wrong with any of them though.

We just got back from the Woodstock KOA, yes above average campground, well run, clean and great for kids.That said not all the sites are in the best of shape, as was ours...noticed a lot of the water/electric sites were unlevel and in need of grading/gravelMike

We just returned from Twin Mtns. I can't compare to the the others but it was very nice, the owners were very helpful with touring options. The kids loved the pool. Some of sites were close and small but we hardly stayed in CG. It was very close to many attractions like Santas Village, Cog, Attish, Old Man and there was even moose sighting just down the road. There is an awesome pizza place just down the road at the light. We would stay again. As focal point to many attractions, it was perfect location.

Glad you liked it. We will be heading to Woodstock this Labor Day weekend for the 3rd time in 4 years. We always enjoy the campground and the area.

Not sure if anyone remembers helping me with this--but we finally made it to New Hampshire and had a blast. We ended up staying at both the Woodstock KOA and the Twin Mountain KOA--here is our review of Woodstock. Thanks for everyones suggestions way back when...

Haven't been to the KOA's but I can fully understand why Danforth Bay has it's #1 rating. It's a top-notch facility. My estimation it would be more than any of the KOAs, especially if you are a KOA member. It's a little further away from the White Mountains but they are still easily accessible.

Go for it. As mentioned, two entirely different environments. I'd rather do that and spend less of the precious vacation time driving and more time camping.

There is 57 miles between them and a mountain range too. Nice ride! Two different worlds of camping styles.

Thanks for the info. Danforth Bay sounds like a definite to me. We usually do a two stop trip in the summer. Does a 4 day stop at Danforth Bay and then a four day stop at Twin Mountain KOA make sense? Or are those two campgrounds too close together for that?

Danforth Bay is right down the street from Chocoura KOA, and a lot better. Biggger sites, two heated pools and a kiddie pool. Full activity schedule, and a great staff of people that work at the resort. The lake is great for boating or kayaking and connects to the Ossipee Lake system.

Coming all the way from New Jersey with kids, for most families, Danforth Bay is a better choice. We have friends from South Amboy, New Jersey that camp for 10 days every summer at Danforth Bay.

As for Beaver Hollow, also down the street, hardly a worthwhile comparison, fun I am sure, but categorically, no where near as good as Danforth Bay.

The answer is "no", it's no further than Chocorua KOA. Danforth Bay is on a back road that run parallel with Rt. 16. Danforth Bay is rated as NH #1 CG, but for the life of me,I can't see how that can be... I wonder who's doing the rating... I know they claim it's the campers doing the rating... But, can this be the same CG I stayed at??? Must be just me since everyone else loves this place.

If I'm staying in that area, it's Beaver Hollow for me, this place is so hokey that it's just downright fun to stay at.
