  • On the right side of the causeway before you drive into Mt Desert Island which is aka Bar Harbor, is Trents Lobster Pound. we had the sweetest wood fired cooked in ocean water 2.5 pounders. Im salivating....
  • As far as I am concerned there is no best. The people of Maine take their Lobster seriously and present it right.

    Just about anywhere is great.
  • A little off subject, when I was in NS CN, when I checked into the campground I asked the host where to get good lobster. She said that her husband was out on the boat attending his lobster traps now and she would call him and he would bring me on. I said that I did not have a pot big enough to cook one. She said no problem, I will cook it. I had fresh lobster for 3 days.

  • We found that most of the "Road" side stands that you pass have EXCELLANT Lobster Rolls / sandwich's. I think we ate 10 pounds of lobster each while we were there not to mention the Blueberries that were in season. We plan on going back on our first trip of 2017. Try not to miss Sunrise at Acadia State Park,Good Luck and Happy Camping !!!
  • I caught a couple of beautiful sea bass, cleaned them and stuffed them with lobster claw meat, last year near York, ME.
I grilled them over Apple wood coals, and when they were finished , I scraped all the claw meat out, tossed in in the garbage and ate the bass!
( sorry, I waited two years to repeat that joke)

  • If you want local flavor, not tourist stuff, go to a lobster boat marina, many have local fresh off the boat cooked lobster. The best.
