- hatchhanlonExplorerWhoa on the new member thing. Yup, it was a stock photo, I think from this forum. Just a little levity, friend. Lots of other conspiracy theorists think the Yogi bear down the road has aliens, too. I wouldn't own a campground if my life depended on it.
To the OP, I have a second, smaller tt that I do use to "see it all." Sometimes, however, it's nice to have a favorite or home base and the intent was to give a shout out for mine. Kinda like the Beach Boys song, Be True to Your School, but for the Social Security eligible camping crowd. - John_JoeyExplorer

An example of a resident at one of our less expensive competitors. Hey it's Traverse City, where're talkin primo.
This is why, I was told, the state, federal, national and COE CGs only allow people to stay for 14 days. They would quickly become low-income slums otherwise, squeezing out true campers and those needing a place to rest for a few days on their way elsewhere.
That's a stock internet photo being used. Makes me think all this great info coming from a new member might be the park owner. The photo sure is not from the TC area.
To the OP, stay mobile and see it all. - huskExplorerI was hoping someone would comment on the Arizona mts.....I plan to go somewhere there in a trailer next summer....we like activities...where to go?
How is Show Low...or Flagstaff...or somewhere else.......thanks. - WandaLust2Explorer

Holiday Park Campground in Traverse City, MI is rated in the top 100 campgrounds, nationally. It is a membership park with lots of visitors, many becoming members, after enjoying this secret gem for a few years.
Besides the member TTs and Fivers, no park models, there has recently been an influx of seasonal folks, who now take advantage of the long-term discount offered. You can leave your rig in storage all year and the Park will move it when you are ready to return. What more could you want?
I'll tell ya. How about a pristine lake with two boat launches containing walleye, large and smallmouth bass, and pan fishing second to none. Add three world class trout streams within 20 minutes, offering salmon and steelhead, besides brown, rainbow, and brook trout that almost jump in your creel. Besides the angling, some folks canoe, kayak, and tube these small rivers, using rental places that dot the area. Want to bike. How about riding on the T.A.R.T. trails or Betsie Pathway.
Lunch, we got lunch, dinner, and aperitifs to ape over. Want to cook your own stuff, Wally World, Meijers, etc., ten minutes away. Plus, nightlife galore, including Friday Nights downtown when Front Street closes for food and entertainment. Too chaotic for you? Grab a steak at Mode's Bum Steer, also nationally recognized. Or visit one of the many breweries right downtown. Makes me burp just thinking about them.
Festivals are us, too. How about the National Cherry Festival. Pies that Soupy Sales would never duck. Every other year the Blue Angels visit and practice for days right over our Park. Hot air balloon rides track over our lake and scare the******out of my dog, literally. Too outdoorsy? Stay inside and watch cable or facebook all day using wifi that is strong enough to remove rust.
The best thing about this place might be the people. Members and visitors are friendly, hey we're on vacation. Everybody seems to have a welcoming attitude towards others. Come for a visit and stay a while, no limit. The campground is open late April until late October, depending on the weather. Bring your golf clubs, dog, kick scooter, kayaks or in-line skate over a mile of paved roads, including our beautiful Park peninsula. Kids love it more than their I Pads.
See you soon. - MotorhomeMAttExplorerRicketts Glenn State Park in Pennsylvania has lots of waterfalls and hiking trails. Check out some of the rv camp details at http://stoltzfus-rec.com/blog/rv-camping-destinations-in-pa-ricketts-glen-state-park/
- rockhillmanorExplorer III hang out around Lake Geneva, WI for the summer. Right over the state line and IMHO just as nice versus driving more more miles further up north
At first I was driving all over the place up north, west and east and quickly found out it to be better NOT to stay that many miles 'away' from Florida.
So come winter I didn't have to drive so many miles and worry about the changing weather on the roads to get back to Florida before the winter weather hit...AND more importantly for me this plan allowes me to 'stay longer' in Wisconsin. Just what work's for me. - hatchhanlonExplorerHoliday Park Campground in Traverse City, MI is rated in the top 100 campgrounds, nationally.
