Stopped at Carolina Crossroads on the way south this year. Actually stayed for a couple of days. They have sites set aside for overnight late arrivals. I believe these sites have electricity and water only. They close the office promptly at 5pm, but there's is someone onsite and they leave you check-in info in a box outside the office.
Well maintained CG and nice people to deal with. Very convenient to I-95.
