- donn0128Explorer IICraigslist, or rvtrader online are probsbly your two best choices.
- Isaac-1ExplorerI bought my class A off a craigslist ad, in the 4+ months I was shopping I searched craigslist as well as rvtrader nearly daily, as well as a few other online listings more occasionally (RVT, Bookoo, etc.) The only problem with craiglist is there are a lot of scams, but after a bit you learn to spot them fairly reliably. The scams will often have wrong photos for the model they claim to be selling, often models that were not produced in the year that is claimed, and oddball prices that are not round numbers.
- doxiemom11Explorer IIWe also searched craigslist on a regular basis. Went to the small lot where we ended up purchasing as a result of listings they had on craigslist. Looked at many that individuals had listed also.
- darsben1ExplorerAs you know AZ has tons of RV's both new and used for sale. You may get a lot less than you think for the rig.
Lots of people come down and then buy a park model or stick and brick.
So price it right and let it go. You still keep the memories - janedoe4955ExplorerThanks for all the great advice!
- 2gypsies1Explorer IIIWe drove ours to PPL consignment in Houston and it sold within a month. There's a lot of RVer looking that comes through that area going or returning from their winter traffic. We got what we asked for it. We made it our final trip. :(
- B_O__PlentyExplorer III have never had any luck trying to sell it myself. A lot of people will buy new because they can finance them easily and for a long term. I have traded my last two in and got a lot less for them than I wanted, but they're gone. I think you can sell anything if the price is low enough..So the real question is: How little are you willing to take? It won't be anywhere near what you think it's worth no matter where you try to sell it..
B.O. - NolanExplorerIt takes a long time when I sell stuff. So be ready for that. Took over 4 years to sell our motorcycles. Our truck and trailer have been for sale since August 2016. Very little interest. Be ready for a long wait. Be ready for scams, be ready for people who say they will show up to look at it and don't. Some people can sell their stuff in an hour or so, me it takes years.
- fcooperExplorerI used RVT and Craigslist. Lots of pictures, full maintenance records, priced correctly. Sold it within the first week.
I'm still getting calls from those idiots that want to sell it for me even though the ad has been off the sites for 2 weeks.
Fre - mikestockExplorerWherever you advertise it you will almost definitely get emails, offering full price plus extra money to pay a delivery service that will pick it up for them. This was just one of the scams I encountered when I had my old fiver up for sale. Usually, the first give away is that they say that they trust you and that your price is fair. They will gladly send you a (bogus) cashiers check.
The English in the communication will usually have a few errors that give them away.
I strung a couple of them along to see how far they would go. Then told them it would be a month before I could confirm the authenticity of their check. The word, "authenticity", threw them for a loop.
