Here are some photos of Fishing Bridge RV in Yellowstone. To me, it's not a parking lot. Look at all the trees. :) I've seen worse throughout our travels.
To the OP: if you need full hookups, Fishing Bridge is the place. Madison or Bridge Bay are nice if you don't need hookups.
Don't try to stay in Cody and tour Yellowstone from there. It's too much slow driving.
Don't forget to stay in Grand Teton Nat'l Park which is right next to Yellowstone to the south. It's completely different - something like a miniature Alps.
In the Tetons, the full hookups RV is Colter Bay RV. There are also dry campgrounds.
