Thank you so much. Leaning towards March/April 2017 before schools out.
March might be too early even for the southern national parks. April would be ideal but stay away during the Easter holiday - crowded.
Head straight to Moab and check out Arches and Canyonlands Nat'l Parks. Dead Horse Point State Park is very nice and at that time, dry camping in Arches Nat'l Park would be ideal. Then go south (Canyonlands Needles is on 211 - very unique and quite different than Canyonlands by Moab) to Blanding, UT and pick up Hwy 95. At this point you would also go to Monument Valley if you've never been there.
So on Hwy 95 go to Hanksville and take 24 to Torrey and Capitol Reef Nat'l Park. Then take Hwy 12 to Escalante and on to Bryce Canyon Nat'l Park. Then to Zion Nat'l Park where you'll be at I-15 for your return home.
All the national parks have campgrounds and we always feel it's best to stay IN the parks if you can and you'll have a nicer experience than a typical RV park.
It's beautiful country and one of our favorite places. Enjoy!
