best time of year......

To visit Florida? We will be taking our annual 2 week road trip next year to Florida! Going to the gulf breeze area and the keys, Disney etc... I figured that this forum would be a good place to ask which months are best and why....
Thanks! :)
  • Mid to late Feb.
Because when you get back home the worst of winter is gone, spring is on the way.

  • Born & raised in central Florida east coast. My favorite time is from early October to mid November, typical days are in the 80's nights 60's. There are very few tourists, kids are back in school & our winter friends have not showed up yet. You can get in to nearly every campground including most state parks. Lines at all restaurants & theme parks are the lowest of anytime during the year.
I am in the hospitality business so come whenever your schedule permits & just plan on leaving us lots of your money
    Enjoy!
  • January & February would be our choice, too. Avoid spring break times, if possible (unless you have children, of course). April/May would be o.k., too or November.
  • 2 weeks is not enough time to see all that you plan on.
If that includes the travel time from and back to RI.
  • My wife and I have wintered in Central Florida (near Disney) for quite a few years now. We feel the best time to visit Florida and Disney is Jan/Feb. Weather is always good in Florida. Obviously, you can get cool/wet weather anytime, but generally it is nice. There aren't as many families vacationing right after the holidays and before spring breaks start, making it a little less congested. But make no mistake, Florida is very busy during the winter months. Traffic is terrible, resorts are busy, and there are just a lot of people around.
