To TexasShadow: No, it was not either of the parks you named.
Thank you to those who suggested that I post my experience as a review. I remain puzzled by the reasoning of this owner (not an employee). I did go back and read the park's web page, on which I found this notice at the bottom of one section:
"Class B, Campers, Pop-Ups, Very Small RVs, a Second Car, or guests without cars, MAY or May-Not be allowed on a case by case basis."
Delving further into the site, another quote may provide the answer. There is a long and convoluted discussion of small RV parks in the area, including this:
"Many/Most of the small parks have their own trailers and RVs, (some are even pretty nice,) that they rent out to people. But,,, people that "rent a trailer full time to live in" are not the same as snowbirds, or people that travel in them.
I always say, when you drive through, look at the type, and condition of the cars, and make sure that there "are" cars in most spaces, or else it usually means a lot of people without cars, that do nothing all day, which means you probably have to lock up your stuff up."
Aha . . . so THAT's what not having a car means. Not a couple of retired folks minimizing the size of our carbon footprint, but people who would instill fear into the heart of those unfortunate enough to park next to us!
I'm not going to identify the park on this forum, but next time I'm choosing a place to stay I may just decide to read the entire website way more closely than ever before.
