- Texas_Roadrunn1ExplorerWe have stays there three times, found the staff to be really accommodating. We had our family reunion in CDA, DH and I hosted a get together at our site for about 20 of the early arrivals to the reunion. The CG let us move in extra tables and were very easy to work with. The bathrooms are very clean and really nice.
- kknowltonExplorer IIJust a thought - if you don't need/want to be right near the town of Coeur d'Alene itself, just "in the area," I'd recommend Farragut SP, about 1/2 hour or so north. Large SP with several CGs, and some of them have lovely, spacious sites. At least elec & water hookups available. Check for site availability, however; reservations can be made up to 8 months in advance, I believe.
Haven't ever been to Blackwell Island RV so can't comment on that. - rbtgloveExplorerDo not recommend the RV Park right downtown on the river (can't recall the name) we had a reservation there but once we saw it we would not stay and went to Blackwell which was more expensive but a much better place to stay.
- campinghutExplorerThe saw mill has been closed for a few years.
- downtheroadExplorerThe upside for Blackwell Island is it's location....pretty much central to everything. And, as already posted - great bike trail access. The park is adequate, nothing special.
When we were there, the grounds were absolutely covered with goose poop and there is a saw mill just across the river that ran 24/7 and was noisy.
Have a good trip. - JustaguyExplorerWe loved our time there last summer. Blackwell is close to town. We rode our bikes all over and if you play golf the nearby golf course is incredible. As for the RV park? meh....it's OK. It could be a lot better but if your the only game in town you tend to get away with a lot of stuff. If you can, get close to the water and stay away from the sites close to the roadway. The 18 wheelers going by can get maddening if your to stay a long time.
If you can make the time, go up to Canada and over to Montana for some fishing. Good times!
