We live near Blairsville. Trackrock is also a favorite for locals who just want to get away for the weekend or school breaks. Nice setting. DH & I drove thru the cg last season. We would probably stay up on the top area where the pull-thrus are.
Vogel is a great state park. When the g-kids are visiting, we like to take them there to run the trails - particularly the one around the lake. Then they're good & tuckered out!
We've also driven thru Mtn View. Nice, new park.
I believe that Mtn View and Trackrock are listed in Passport America so a few $ can be saved.
If you can't get in to any of the great cgs around Blairsville, go East on 76 to Hiawassee to the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. This cg is located on Lake Chatuge. It can also fill up very fast - especially if a festival or a fair is going on. I'll include the web link for this one as the others have already been posted. http://www.georgiamountainfairgrounds.com/campgrounds.php
The peak leaf looking season in NE GA is over for this year. Today has still been full with the sun hitting singular trees that are bursting in bright golds or reds. So many have dropped their leaves and are stark lines on the horizon.
Do come visit NE GA! Lots of waterfalls, local crafts, festivals or just kick back and relax.
