Boon Docking for 5 days

So we hit up some BLM land for camping over the Memorial Day week end and spent five days at a BLM Campground. They were nice camp sites with a fire ring and shade. There were pit toilets and no water. In our group there were three of us. One with minimalist type camping trailer called a Cricket and the other with Sprinter Van Conversion done at a local place that does this type thing. We were the "spoiled brats" in our Creek Side................And strangely enough both the vehicles with the small Eco-foot print..............Ran out of water....Rookies. What kind of boon docking trailer has 10 gallons of fresh water!!!! We came back with a third of a tank of water and room left in the grey and black tank. Solar kept the 6v series batteries up perfectly. We run two 12v C-Pap machines at night. Had a great time!

Well some folks, us RV'ers included, stop at only two or less kids or adopt all their kids. In the ultimate long run doing this by all of us would truly throttle our damage to the planet - swamping out all other efforts to stop the damage while letting the world's population grow unchecked. :(
  • Presently Camping on the outer beach, all self contained. This is my third summer with solar and I wish I did it sooner. For the cost of a good inverter generator, you can have two deep cycle 6 volt flooded cell batteries, a controller and solar pv. Batteries recharge and we watch tv, pull in wifi from great distances not to mention charge phones laptops ipads, aside from lights and waterpump. SOme day I want to hit up Army Corp, DEC, and BLM parks. Those days are coming....
