- agesilausExplorer IIINew Jersey beats California without breaking a sweat.
They will seize a legal firearm and make you fight to get it returned

Heh that's one of the last places I would consider camping (and I was born there) - 2oldmanExplorer IIAll things considered, I have to admit I do get a bit nervous when there's no cell service where I'm camped.
- profdant139Explorer IINever even seen a bad guy, except in campgrounds near LA. Gangsters do go camping, but not boondocking, I guess!
- Cobra21ExplorerI have mace at all my doors, next would be a tazer, but no guns for me.
Brian - TerryallanExplorer III carry. You will never know it.
In todays world. Where you can't even safely sit in Church. I like to have help only a split second away.
And no I have never felt threatned by a human in a CG. But have had animals scare me. - doc_brownExplorerI'm always armed. I'm one of the few citizens in Southern California (LA area) with a CCW. I'm actually permitted in 36 states. In the motorhome there is always a loaded shotgun and and two handguns. Outside the motorhome I'm carrying concealed if I'm in a permitted state. I boondock about 40 days a year. If you decide to carry a weapon in your rig get plenty of training, this does not include going to the range. Good luck.
- notevenExplorer IIIThe less I look at the "news" the safer I feel everywhere.
- DanNJaniceExplorerWe boondock about 75% of the time and keep our little 9mm in the trailer, mostly to plink at cans and stuff.
I am far more concerned, when closer to civilization, and in a campground with a bunch of drunken rednecks playing with firearms and hunting deer signs Sadly, given the current political environment, it seems all but impossible to keep firearms out of the hands of these idiots. - pnicholsExplorer II

Depends on the state and so far as I know CA is hostile in general to guns.
I'm very happy with that and count that as a big PLUS for California. Because of this we feel safer in California when going about our daily business than when traveling in certain other states.
I shot competively in the AF, used to hunt a bit, and still own some high power firearms ... but they have no place being carried around by private citizens on the their person or in their vehicles during the course of daily living. I flat-out don't trust amateurs with firearms, especially in the high-tension life-or-death so-called "protection" situations where alcohol-free/drug-free/calm-emotions judgement and wisdom are required on both sides.
Firearms belong out hunting, at the target range, or in storage. The answer to perpetrators carrying firearms is not potential victims carrying firearms.
All IMHO, of course. - LenSaticExplorerAlways! Even at the oral surgeon the other day. ;) (Really)
Unless CA laws have changed since I escaped 6 years ago, you can legally have a "legal" firearm in your house, campsite, and RV.
Never needed it and don't expect to, but it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
