We have used our debit card at Walmart and get cash back for a number of years, Now our TD debit card has the Visa symbol on it and we seem to be able to use it anywhere they take credit cards. Some years back we were asked how much cash we had and I told him less then $200.00 he asked how would we pay our way? I told him CC & DC and have never been asked since. I now use the DC almost all the time because with it they only charge the exchange most CC add an extra two and one half percent.
I have also found that if I use the DC at gas pumps I can punch in the code and not have to deal with a zip code.
